Children's Miracle Network Hospitals

nurse with child and family

Beaumont Children’s is proud to be a member of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, a non-profit organization that raises funds and awareness for 170 member hospitals across the U.S. and Canada. Donations to Children’s Miracle Networks Hospitals stay within the community where the funds are raised to provide critical treatments and health care services, pediatric medical equipment and charitable care. The efforts of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals provide more than 32 million treatments to kids each year.

Since 1988, Beaumont Children's has been the only Children’s Miracle Network Hospital in Southeast Michigan. One hundred percent of the donations raised in Southeast Michigan stay here, within our community, to fund exceptional programs and services, vital pediatric equipment and scholarships for families struggling to afford care.

Beaumont depends on community support to help fund these vital services. Events and promotions are conducted year-round through a coalition of corporate sponsors, media partners and local businesses working together to help kids battle against illnesses in our community. View our impact report to learn how the money raised supported local children.

Children’s Miracle Networks Hospitals help kids of every age and background to overcome disease, injury and illness. These 170 hospitals are on the front lines of research, education and outreach programs. Since 1983, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals has raised more than $5 billion, most of it $1 at a time through the charity’s Miracle Balloon icon.

Introducing the 2022 Children’s Miracle Network Ambassador for Beaumont Children’s…Mila!

Picture of Mila
Picture of Mila

Mila was born on a cold January day in 2015 to parents Amy and Paul. She was actually due to arrive more than four and a half months later in May of 2015. At birth she weighed only one pound, 10 ounces and was considered a “micro preemie” by her care team.

Throughout her 135 day stay in the neonatal intensive care unit at Beaumont Royal Oak, Mila fought many obstacles including brain bleeds, retinopathy and bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BDP). Yet she remained strong and miraculously hit milestone after milestone. Once her brain matured, she was able to regulate her body temperature on her own and a few weeks later, she was breathing on her own and drinking from a bottle. Every day she grew stronger.

Today Mila is a happy, healthy six-year-old, who has not only reached her milestones, but is surpassing them. Thanks to continued occupational and physical therapy she receives at Beaumont and a specially adapted bike she received from CMN’s Bike Day Program, Mila is more active than ever.

Mila will serve as the patient ambassador for Beaumont Children’s and will help to raise awareness for pediatric initiatives across Southeast Michigan.
