Due to significant blowing snow and cold temperatures forecasted for southeast Michigan this weekend, today at 8 p.m. will be the last night for the 2022 Moonbeams for Sweet Dreams event at Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital, the new name for Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak.
We are asking the community to bring their flashlights and come out to support the pediatric unit at Beaumont Children’s one final time this year.
The difficult decision to cancel the Friday, Dec. 23, and Saturday, Dec. 24 events was made with the safety of the community and volunteers in mind.
“If you’re able, we’d love for you to come out and see us one more time this year,” said Kathleen Grobbel, Child Life Supervisor, Beaumont Children's, and Moonbeams event co-leader. “Although we are disappointed to cancel the last two evenings, we are doing so with the safety of all involved in mind. With thousands of community members having come out this year for our first time back since 2019, our patients, families and staff had a truly wonderful experience. We are grateful for your generous support and look forward to welcoming everybody back in 2023.”
