Excellence For More Than Four Decades

Beaumont provides innovative and collaborative approaches for the treatment of end-stage renal and liver disease, offering patients access to transplant experts who are well-versed in cutting-edge clinical trials and novel medical research.

Beyond clinical excellence, Beaumont generates superior outcomes in transplant recipients because of its team-approach to patient care and expedited diagnosis and treatment.

Our transplant specialists have pioneered innovative procedures in organ donation and transplantation, affording patients with even the most complex conditions options for treatment through groundbreaking new medical therapies, innovative surgical procedures, and organ transplantation.

Under the direction of Alan J. Koffron, M.D. , who is internationally-renowned for his contributions to the advancement of transplant surgery, treatment of complex liver tumors, and minimally-invasive liver surgery, our patients benefit from his clinical and academic training, as well as his extensive operative experience. Dr. Koffron leads a multidisciplinary team of experts in the field of transplantation, who work together closely to ensure that each patient gets the best possible care throughout his or her entire treatment course.

Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak is accredited by Medicare and the United Network for Organ Sharing, the federally-funded organization that manages the nation’s organ transplant system. Our transplant team works closely with Gift of Life Michigan, the state’s organ and tissue recovery program, as well as other regional organ recovery programs, to provide our patients access to donors from across the region.
