Bucket sale at the grand re-opening of Great Lakes Ace Hardware in Rochester Hills, a Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals’ corporate partner, to benefit children’s programs.
Great Lakes Ace Hardware, located at 3182 Walton Blvd. in Rochester Hills, Mich., will host a grand re-opening celebration and sale April 11-14, 2024. As part of the festivities, a “bucket sale” will be held to benefit pediatric programs of Corewell Health Children’s, a Children’s Miracle Network Hospital. Customers donating $5.00 to CMN will receive 20 percent off all purchases that fit into a special Ace bucket.
On Saturday, April 13, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Desmond, a Corewell Health Children’s Miracle Child, will greet customers to thank them for their donations to CMN and share his first-hand experience with some of the CMN supported services at the hospital.
Desmond was born a healthy and very active child. When Desmond was a year old, his family started to notice that he was falling a lot and it was painful for him to sit. He soon became paralyzed from the waist down. In 2014, he was diagnosed with a spinal cord tumor and underwent surgery to remove the tumor. With the support of CMN funded programs, Desmond learned to walk again. He is now an active 11-year-old, full of life and love!
In 2019, Desmond was chosen as the Ace All-Star. With this designation, he was the national face of Ace Hardware’s fundraising efforts and helped raise funds for CMN hospitals across the country by sharing his story and inspiring others to give back via Ace Hardware.
The newly renovated Great Lakes Ace Hardware Rochester Hills added more than 5,000 sq. ft. to accommodate a full line of Stihl outdoor power equipment, Carhartt workwear, and a greatly expanded backyard BBQ section. The store also sells lawn and garden supplies, fasteners, tools, plumbing, and electrical supplies, and offers services such as automotive key cutting and fob replacement and propane tank exchange.
