Corewell Health in Southeast Michigan continues partnership with NorthStar Anesthesia to provide high-quality anesthesia services

Corewell Health in Southeast Michigan has signed a letter of intent to extend its agreement with NorthStar Anesthesia to provide anesthesia services for patients. The health system previously planned to transition to an employed model for its anesthesia program, but leaders decided remaining with NorthStar Anesthesia was best for patients and staff.

"Many of our hospitals have had a strong relationship with NorthStar Anesthesia for the past several years. This renewed agreement will help ensure our patients receive the same exceptional, high-quality anesthesia care they expect," Dr. Darryl Elmouchi, interim president of Corewell Health in Southeast Michigan, said. “We are pleased to continue working with NorthStar Anesthesia."

Corewell Health’s partnership with NorthStar Anesthesia, an anesthesia care leader, has led to successes for both patients and clinicians. During the partnership, NorthStar Anesthesia has recruited a talented team of anesthesiologists and CRNAs (certified registered nurse anesthetists) to serve patients in Southeast Michigan.

The agreement applies to Corewell Health’s hospitals in Dearborn, Grosse Pointe, Royal Oak, Taylor, Trenton, Troy and Wayne. Independent anesthesiologists serving the Farmington Hills campus will continue doing so.
