Corewell Health East hires new president for Farmington Hills campus

Corewell Health East has promoted Derk Pronger to be the next president of Corewell Health Farmington Hills Hospital, effective immediately.

“Since the beginning of this year, Derk has taken on more and more responsibilities at our Farmington Hills campus. He has done a wonderful job and I’m confident he will be a fantastic president,” Corewell Health East Chief Operating Officer for acute and post-acute services Nancy Susick, RN, said.

Pronger previously served as chief operating officer for the Farmington Hills campus. His other previous roles include chief operating officer and interim president & chief executive officer for Munson Healthcare’s hospital in Traverse City and vice president, Surgical and Ancillary Services at Corewell Health Beaumont Troy Hospital.

“I’m honored be the new president of our Farmington Hills campus. We have a tremendous team that inspires and impresses me every day. I am excited to work with them to fulfill our Mission to improve health, instill humanity and inspire hope,” Pronger said.

He is board certified in health care management as a fellow of the American College of Health Care Executives. He also serves on the board for the Farmington & Farmington Hills Foundation for Youth & Families. In 2020, he was the recipient of the Detroit Mercy Alumni Achievement Award.

In addition to a master’s in Health Services Administration from the University of Detroit Mercy, Pronger also earned a bachelor’s in Accounting from Purdue University.
