Wide Bore MRI

A wide bore MRI is a type of diagnostic testing procedure offered at Beaumont. It is the same as a traditional MRI with one difference; a larger opening. These scanners boast openings up to 70 centimeters wide along with much shorter tubes to further promote an open experience.

It is important to note that some tests may require a more traditional scanner. This will be determined prior to testing.

Wide Bore MRI Benefits

Wide bore MRI scanners are a great alternative for larger patients or those who are claustrophobic. Comfort is key and Beaumont wants to make sure every person who receives an MRI scan is as relaxed and calm as possible.

Performance is not compromised with this type of MRI scanner. Each MRI will deliver outstanding results; providing doctors with clear and accurate pictures. This allows our physicians to produce more precise diagnoses for their patients.
