Urgent Care Centers expand access to the Beaumont Network of facilities and providers

Beaumont Health and WellStreet will open their 13th urgent care facility at 30955 Woodward Ave., inside the Woodward Corners by Beaumont development in Royal Oak on Thursday, Aug. 15. Through 2020, the Beaumont Network will expand with up to 30 urgent care centers throughout Southeast Michigan.

“I’m pleased with the progress we have made to create a network of 30 urgent care centers in Metro Detroit,” said Carolyn Wilson, chief operating officer, Beaumont Health. “We’re committed to making care more accessible and convenient for our patients. The community has embraced the urgent cares we have already opened, and we are looking forward to serving more patients at our Woodward Corners location. This is our largest facility to date and will serve as our flagship location.”

The new Beaumont Urgent Care centers allow patients to access providers and facilities in the Beaumont Network quickly for minor injuries and illnesses at a reduced cost compared to an emergency room visit. Patients receive fast, efficient care. Expanded services like an in-house lab, X-ray and fiberglass splinting are also available.

“Beaumont is working with WellStreet, a company experienced with running patient-focused urgent care centers. We are serving patients and families by providing quality care on their terms, with easy access at lower cost,” Dr. Bernice Sessa, medical director of Beaumont Urgent Care, said.

While services are not limited to Beaumont patients, the medical team at Beaumont Urgent Care centers can access the Beaumont Network electronic medical record to help doctors and nurses provide coordinated care. Patients are also encouraged to find a primary care physician, and staff can assist with coordinating necessary care for patients and physicians.

WellStreet’s CEO, Ron Lavater added, “Beaumont Urgent Care Center’s talented providers and staff are focused on the patient’s experience. It is our goal to have patients in and out of our centers within an hour or less. We are thrilled to serve the communities in our new locations.”

  • Allen Park, 15606 Southfield Road
