On Monday, July 11, The Drive for Life Invitational was hosted at Oakland Hills Country Club in Bloomfield Hills. This year’s event was presented by Beaumont Urgent Care by WellStreet and raised close to $275,000 for programs and services at the
Walter & Marilyn Wolpin Comprehensive Breast Care Center at Beaumont, Royal Oak and the Wilson Cancer Resource Center at Beaumont, Troy. In addition to golfing the club’s elite courses, 200 guests enjoyed meals, golf tips from PGA Pro Tom
Gillis, awards and a silent auction.
During the cocktail reception, guests were able to meet Benjamin Schwartz, MD, the new president of Beaumont Health and Margaret Cooney Casey, president of the Beaumont Health Foundation, presented Walter and Marilyn Wolpin with Beaumont’s Outstanding
Philanthropy Award for their many years of philanthropic support and leadership. An honorary committee, of individuals that were instrumental in founding the fundraiser were also honored.

Chris Emde of Bloomfield Hills and Karen Glorio Luther of Ann Arbor were the co-chairs for this year’s event, working alongside a fundraising committee of community leaders. The committee worked on securing sponsorships from more than 50 groups
including:
