Grosse Pointe Golf Classic
The 40th Annual Grosse Pointe Golf Classic was held June 5 at the Country Club of Detroit for 160 golfers, the largest in recent years. Corewell Health East Board of Directors Chairman Christopher Blake served as emcee as we introduced Dr. Timothy Lyons to the Grosse Pointe community. The outing raised $240,000 for the Spiritual Care Endowment Fund at Corewell Health’s Beaumont Hospital, Grosse Pointe. The event was co-chaired by Susan and George Haggarty.
Hakim Physician Resource Center Opening
Physicians and donors gathered for an appreciation event and tour of the newly renovated Hakim Physician Resource Center at Corewell Health’s Beaumont Hospital, Dearborn on June 7. The renewed lounge honors the memory of Dr. Muhammad Hakim. Margaret Cooney Casey, Deborah Guido-Allen, RN, and Dr. Raj Goswami were featured presenters during the program.
Walk for Miracles
June 10 brought 2,500 walkers to the eighth annual Walk for Miracles at the Detroit Zoo. A special feature of this year’s event were nursing team members who were invited to attend with their families as a special thank-you effort. More than $75,000 was raised.
Women’s Health Care Classic
The 30th Annual Women’s Health Care Classic was held on June 12. This unique golf event included women golfing at the Dearborn Country Club and mixed foursomes playing at TPC Michigan. The outing’s honorary chairs were Karen Smithbauer and Dr. Donald Conn with HBWS, who also served as the event’s long-time title sponsors. This year, the program introduced the new Dearborn hospital president, Debbie Guido-Allen, RN, and Kristine Donahue, RN, president of Taylor, Trenton and Wayne hospitals. Event proceeds benefited women’s health services at Corewell Health’s Beaumont Hospitals in Dearborn, Taylor, Trenton and Wayne.

Drive for Life Invitational
The Drive for Life Invitational at Oakland Hills Country Club will be held on Monday, July 10. The event will benefit oncology programs at the Walter & Marilyn Wolpin Comprehensive Breast Care Center at Corewell Health’s Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital and multiple oncology programs at the Wilson Cancer Resource Center at Corewell Health’s Beaumont Hospital, Troy. Both the championship South Course and North Course will provide a premium day of golf for participants. WJR 760 AM Radio will broadcast live on the course during the day. This year’s program will introduce the new Royal Oak hospital president, Dr. Daniel Carey. The event is co-chaired by Tom Lanni, president of the Troy hospital and Chris Emde.
Corewell Health East Physician Appreciation Golf Outing and Gathering
All physicians, residents and fellows affiliated with Corewell Health East hospitals are invited to attend a new event — the Corewell Health East Physician Appreciation Golf Outing & Gathering on Monday, Aug. 14, at Wyndgate Country Club in Rochester Hills.
Feldman Automotive Children’s Miracle Celebrity Invitational
The 2023 event will be hosted Monday, Aug. 28, at the Detroit Golf Club as we continue our partnership with the Mark Wahlberg Youth Foundation, raising an estimated $1.5 million to support the two charity partners. The 2023 event is co-chaired by community leaders Tom Celani, Nino Cutraro, Jay Feldman, Ken Noonan, Bob Skandalaris and Sam Yamin. The day includes premium golf with each of the 50+ foursomes enjoying a celebrity participant from the world of entertainment or professional sports.
William Beaumont Society Gala
William Beaumont Society members will be invited to a gala featuring a renowned keynote speaker on Saturday, Oct. 7, at the MGM Grand Detroit. The event will thank these important supporters and introduce new leaders to community leaders and philanthropic supporters.
Corewell Health Trustees Meeting and Reception
Corewell Health Trustees will gather on Tuesday, Oct. 24, at the Corewell Health Employee Health Services from 6-7:30 p.m. for system updates and a medical presentation. A networking reception will follow.
104.3 WOMC Turn UP the Miracles Radiothon
The sixth year of partnership with WOMC 104.3/Audacy radio will continue Thursday, Nov. 16. During this live, 12-hour broadcast, sponsors, local celebrities, miracle families and clinical staff from Beaumont Children’s will come together virtually to raise funds for Corewell Health East’s many pediatric programs funded by Children’s Miracle Network. The fundraising goal for 2023 is $500,000.
The Red Tie Hour
The Red Tie Hour will continue to be a virtual fundraising event during the final hour of the WOMC 104.3 Cares for Kids Radiothon on Thursday, Nov. 16, from 5-6 p.m. The event plans to raise $200,000 and will benefit the Center for Exceptional Families. The event will host the 2nd Annual Chairman’s Dinner at Roman Village in Dearborn as a live, in-person event with event chairman Patrick Rugiero.
Corewell Health’s Beaumont Hospital, Dearborn’s 70th Anniversary Celebration
The community will be invited to support a 70-year anniversary celebration for Corewell Health’s Beaumont Hospital, Dearborn on Friday, Dec. 8. The event will host up to 600 guests at the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn. Funds raised from this event will benefit programs at the Dearborn hospital.
