Common issues like fear of leaking, uncertainty about the pouching system and problems related to stoma can be dealt with in the clinic. The Ostomy Clinic can also help you with:

  • post-op follow up care
  • education about your stoma
  • management of skin complications around your stoma
  • advice on what kind of pouching system is right for you
  • counseling on how to prevent constipation if you have a colostomy
  • advice on continent urinary diversions 
  • counseling on diet, including what foods to eat or avoid
  • finding support groups, sexual and vocational counseling
