Corewell Health: The new name for Beaumont. Here to make health better.
Most women with epilepsy are able to lead healthy, active lives with proper treatment and more than 90% of women with epilepsy have healthy babies without seizure disorders.
Women with epilepsy face unique challenges due to the effects seizures and anti-seizure medications have on hormonal function, potentially affecting both sexual and reproductive health.
The Beaumont Women’s Epilepsy Clinic addresses the specific needs and concerns of women with epilepsy. This comprehensive program provides expert neurological clinical care, as well as psychological support and counseling, to women with epilepsy.
The clinic team collaborates with primary care, obstetrics and gynecology as needed to provide
an individualized treatment plan to address the following different phases of a woman’s life and how epilepsy relates to them.
