Corewell Health understands the importance of serving the health needs of its communities. To understand the health concerns and needs that patients, their families, and neighbors face when making health life choices and health care decisions, Corewell Health implemented a Community Health Needs Assessment. Beginning in January 2022, Corewell Health along with community partners began the process. The eight Corewell Health East hospitals were involved and considered throughout the assessment. Corewell Health with the help of community partners, collected and analyzed data to capture the community’s voice and identify the greatest health needs of Macomb, Oakland and Wayne Counties. Prioritization of the needs collected through data resulted in three priorities being selected: access to care, behavioral health, and health education.
The following publication is our 2022 Community Health Needs Assessment which thoroughly outlines the most pressing health concerns of the communities served by Corewell Health East, and our strategies to address them moving forward. Compiled from several months of data collection, community input, and collaboration, this document offers an insightful and detailed analysis of our service areas using quantitative data and significant input from a diverse group of residents, health experts and organizations representing a broad cross-section of our region.
