What’s the most common form of cancer in the U.S.? Skin cancer. Basal cell and squamous cell carcinomas - the two most common types - are highly curable, but can be disfiguring and costly to treat. Melanoma, the third most common, is more dangerous and causes the most deaths.

As reported by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 80,442 new cases of skin melanomas were reported and 8,885 people died from this in 2015, the latest year for which data is available. Skin cancer can almost always be cured when found and treated in its early stages.
