Beaumont Health is pleased to announce the following recognitions recently received by four employees and two facilities:
Beaumont hospitals in Grosse Pointe and Royal Oak named ‘100 Top Hospitals’
Beaumont Hospital, Grosse Pointe and Beaumont, Royal Oak were selected as Truven Health 100 Top Hospitals award winners. They ranked among the best in the country on overall performance as determined by independent public data and Truven analytics. Both hospitals also earned Truven Health’s Everest Award. This award honors hospitals that have achieved the highest current performance and the fastest long-term improvement over five years.
Flanders recognized by MHA for patient safety and quality leadership
Samuel Flanders, M.D., senior vice president, Quality and Safety, Beaumont Health, was the recipient of the 2017 Michigan Health and Hospital Association’s award for patient safety and quality leadership. The award recognizes individuals “who demonstrate leadership in patient safety and quality improvement, and whose contributions to the field transcend the bounds of their own hospital or health system.“
Evans honored with APMA’s ‘Award of Excellence’
John Evans, D.P.M., podiatrist on staff at Beaumont Hospital, Dearborn and Wayne, was recognized by the American Podiatric Medical Association with the Award of Excellence. The award is presented to members in good standing in recognition of outstanding national accomplishments in scientific, professional, or civic endeavors.
Swor awarded National Association of EMS Physicians highest honor
Robert Swor, D. O., emergency medical specialist, Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak, received the National Association of EMS Physicians’ Ronald D. Stewart Award at their annual meeting in New Orleans. Dr. Swor was recognized for having made lasting, major contributions to the EMS community nationally, as the organization’s past president from 1996-97. He also has served as director of their premier education course for nearly a decade.
Tech joins Salvation Army’s advisory board executive committee
Kurt Tech, M.D., radiologist and director, Quality and Safety, Radiology, Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak, has joined the Salvation Army of Metro Detroit’s advisory board executive committee as treasurer and finance chairman.
