Gene Michalski, president and CEO of newly formed Beaumont Health, has announced an organizational structure that will drive integration and guide the new health organization in achieving its vision for high-quality, high-value health care with a seamless patient experience.

The new health organization, formed Sept. 2, 2014, is entering its next phase of integrating operations and best practices of Beaumont Health System, Botsford Health Care and Oakwood Healthcare.

Some of that work will be accomplished by members of two councils announced by Michalski in December.

A new Hospital and Ambulatory Council will identify and implement integration strategies for electronic health record implementation and supply chain, and provide a forum to evaluate system-wide opportunities to improve quality of care and operations.

A Post-Acute and Diversified Business Council will identify and implement strategies to ensure coordination of high quality patient care across all settings of care. This council will review and integrate Beaumont Health’s current joint ventures and diversified businesses (such as nursing homes, home care, medical transportation, etc.) and will also provide a forum for discussing and reviewing new business opportunities.

“We’ve made considerable progress since our September launch through the dedicated work of our integration teams,” says Michalski. “This new structure, effective Jan. 1, will provide another collaborative framework to enhance our integration efforts as we begin to operate our business together.”

Michalski and the Beaumont Health C-suite executive team also announced the appointments of the next level of top executives for the $3.8 billion not-for-profit health care organization.

Newly named Beaumont Health senior vice presidents include:

  • Malcolm Henoch, M.D., of Northville, senior vice president & associate chief medical officer, acute care
  • Leslie Rocher, M.D., of West Bloomfield, senior vice president, chief academic & clinical officer
  • Sam Flanders, M.D., of Bloomfield Hills, senior vice president, chief quality & safety officer
  • Laura Glenn, of Clarkston, senior vice president, Beaumont Health Physician Partners
  • Paula Smith, of Plymouth, senior vice president & chief information officer, operations
  • Mike Langlois, of Clinton Township, senior vice president, supply chain
  • Nick Vitale, of Troy, senior vice president, financial operations
  • Matt Elsey, of Commerce Township, senior vice president, revenue cycle & reimbursement
  • William Isenstein, of West Bloomfield, senior vice president, managed care contracting & accountable care services

“Our new, combined executive team brings a wealth of experience and knowledge with a drive to create an extraordinary experience for those being served or working at Beaumont Health,” says Michalski.
