Beaumont Health President and CEO John T. Fox has announced the appointment of Mark Bohen, MBA as the senior vice president and chief marketing and communications officer for Beaumont Health.

Bohen will provide operational and strategic leadership for Beaumont’s marketing and communications teams. He joined Beaumont Health’s executive leadership team on April 4.

“Mark is a seasoned executive with 30 years of consumer marketing experience,” Fox said. “Under his leadership, he’ll help further define and develop our distinctive brand position and ensure our health system delivers on its brand promise to patients and the many communities we serve.” Bohen comes to Beaumont from Assurant Inc., based in New York City, a Fortune 300 specialty insurance company with a major health care focus.  At Assurant, he served as senior vice president, Marketing and Innovation, since 2007. His accomplishments include: leading a new ventures innovation team, building a strong master brand, commercializing new businesses, leading a team creating Assurant’s social and digital strategy and helping change corporate culture to be more consumer-oriented.

Before 2007, Bohen served as senior vice president of Marketing and Customer Relations in Assurant’s Employee Benefits division in Kansas City, Missouri; as vice president of Consumer Marketing for McCain Foods Inc. in Toronto; and as a brand manager for Nabisco Biscuit Company in East Hanover, New Jersey.

He earned an MBA from Duke University and a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Syracuse University.

“With his extensive consumer marketing experience outside the health care industry, Mark will bring a fresh, consumer-oriented perspective to Beaumont Health, which will help us in developing innovative strategies to meet growing health care consumer expectations,” Fox said.
