Beaumont Children’s is hosting a “Beaumont Grandstand Cruise & View” event at the former Northwood Shopping Center during the cruising excitement on Saturday, August 20.
Participants can enjoy a prime viewing spot of Woodward Avenue during a cruise-themed fundraising event for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. “Cruise & View” will feature vehicles from the Lingenfelter Collection, one of the top automotive collections in the world, retro-Detroit diner favorites, covered grandstand seating and more.
The former Firestone building at Northwood will house vehicles from the Lingenfelter Collection and Beau the Bear’s Diner. To prepare the site for the event, Beaumont reached out to Childtime child care and enlisted the help of teachers and children. From Monday, Aug.1 through Friday, Aug.5, 35 children at the center painted a colorful, whimsical, streetscape mural on the inside wall of the building. Hollie Hulst was the supervising artist and camp teacher.
“The children worked hard and had a great time painting the entire week,” said Anne Behr, Program Director, Childtime. “This was an enjoyable project for everyone involved.”
Tickets to the fundraising event are $175.
