New and expectant parents are invited to observe life-saving demonstrations, listen to Beaumont experts share parenting advice and talk with vendors about the latest children's products and toys at the annual Beaumont baby fairs.
"Our team of experts, which includes nurses, midwives and physicians, partners with each new mom to develop a birth plan," said Kelly Ryan, Beaumont Parenting Program director. "We listen and collaborate to ensure all of our patients receive personalized care and follow-up, to give mothers and their families the best start possible."
The Beaumont Hospital, Troy baby fair is April 14 inside the Beaumont Outpatient Services Center Atrium, 44250 Dequindre Road, in Sterling Heights, across the street from the hospital. The Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak, baby fair is April 28, inside the hospital's South entrance, 3601 W. Thirteen Mile Road. Each event runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Both fairs will include refreshments, contest prizes, educational information and new parent demonstrations. Demonstration themes include, "Relief of Choking: Infant and Child," "Comfort Measures for Labor," "Baby Basics," "Breastfeeding Basics" and "Infant Massage."
Car seat safety checks will also be offered at the Troy location from noon to 3 p.m.
"Beaumont offers these classes and demonstrations to help women, babies and their families be healthy in all stages of life," Ryan said.
Children's Miracle Network Hospitals is sponsoring the fairs.
