Dairy Queen Blizzard

On Thursday, July 28, a summer blizzard will chill Metro Detroit. But, don’t worry, this isn’t a snowstorm. It’s a Dairy Queen Blizzard. For the eleventh consecutive year, Dairy Queen's Miracle Treat Day invites people to come out to area stores, enjoy a Blizzard Treat, and raise funds for services and equipment for hospitalized children at Beaumont Children's.

Participating Dairy Queen stores in Metro Detroit will donate $1 or more from each Blizzard Treat sold that day to the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals benefiting Beaumont Children's in Southeast Michigan.

Participating Metro Detroit Dairy Queen Locations

The Dairy Queen system is asking fans to use the power of the selfie to rally around Miracle Treat Day. Fans can purchase their favorite Blizzard Treat and share their support and selfie at #MiracleTreatYourSelfie.

Children's Miracle Network Hospitals is a national charity that works with 170 children's hospitals across the U.S. and Canada. The group ensures that when a donation is made, it stays in the local community, so that every dollar given goes to help local kids.

"Miracle Treat Day grows every year and participating in this event is a terrific way to cool off during a hot Michigan summer," says Tom McGannon, vice president, Beaumont Foundation. "We appreciate our DQ partners and their ongoing support to raise funds to help Beaumont Children's kids through the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals."

Last year, participating Dairy Queen locations throughout the United States and Canada raised more than $5 million on Miracle Treat Day. Dairy Queen hopes to top that total this year.

2016 marks Dairy Queen and Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals 32nd anniversary of their partnership. Since 1984, Dairy Queen has helped raise more than $115 million for CMN Hospitals.
