This free lecture will cover topics in exercise science and endurance training, including cardiovascular risks/benefits of high volume, high intensity training regimens, high risk activities, cardiovascular abnormalities associated with acute cardiac events, and screening procedures. Performance training parameters, including the VO2 max and anaerobic threshold, will also be discussed. Following the lecture, attendees will be queried with a three- question quiz, based on the most correct answers, to qualify for prizes: a complimentary cardiovascular performance evaluation ($370 value) and two copies of Dr. Franklin’s new book entitled, The Heart-Healthy Handbook.
